This cycle tour through the rolling Driftless bluff-country and along the Mississippi on buttery smooth asphalt is perfect for beginners and those cyclists who love to ride. Let us handle your gear, your accommodations, and your nourishment along the way. The tour's stages travel through three different watersheds each with distinctive biology. The route rides through several riverside villages where you’ll experience the living history of the region through local beer and wine, gorgeous hikes, and craft meals from local farms.
Tour Highlights (distances represent multiple routes)
Day 1-(22-33 miles)
After fueling up with coffee and meeting your biking compatriots we will ride across the Big River, perhaps stopping at one of the region’s wineries on our way to the old city of Alma, WI. By day’s end we will have climbed to the vistas at the bluff top and rolled down some of the many rolling rural roads through scenic farmsteads. Staying at a local B&B, you can take in the sights, crafts and food of this incredibly chic river town on your first day of adventure in the Driftless.

Day 2-(21-54 miles)
Wake up to a delicious breakfast from our visiting guest chef. Once properly fortified we will ready your bike for our big ride to A to Z Pizza Farm, one of the River's most iconic dining experiences with farm fresh wood fired pizza eaten picnic style in the fields. After savoring the view and food, and indulging in a passing winery or lakeside beer we will have earned a brief downhill cruise to our restful sleep on the river.

Day 3-(11-33 miles)
Today your morning ride will bring you past wineries and scenic overlooks to the shores of the Chippewa River, a tributary to the Mississippi. There you will have the option to trade your bike for a sea kayak and float your way home. For this last stretch of your journey you are offered the option to kayak the river with one of our kayak guides, taking in the river as human's traveled for ages. We will pull up our boats or bikes to the riverside Read's Landing Brewing Company for well earned food and craft beers. Here we will raise our pints and cheers to a journey well made.
